The Do Lab is an ideas incubator for technology and business innovation. We focus on strategy, architecture and product development for the convergence of broadcast and online media with social networks. With market-leading experience in MHEG-5/MHEG+, standards-based web services, metadata and service architectures, we have developed SlipStream, an integrated Social TV solution. SlipStream was a winner at the 2008 BBC Innovation Labs. Other products include Ubiquity, a cross-media development platform for online services, mobile devices and Freeview/Freesat. We also provide MHEG/MHEG+ training services. The Do Lab is based in Scotland and Germany.

One of the main commercial benefits of MHEG-5 is its complete cost effectiveness in delivering high levels of TV interactivity, allowing operators to offer a whole host of compelling new revenue generating services using genuine open standards technology. This keeps both deployment and running costs low. The scalability and flexibility of MHEG-5 means that its capabilities are constantly expanding and evolving to meet ever changing consumer demands, and Latens will be aligning itself to technology that has already been proven in the market.
